What are the differences between the Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) and the Lithium batteries?

TopCaddy: The new and improved lithium battery for golf trundlers has a much better power storage, and can be stored in a smaller container. The lithium battery has a longer lifetime (about 1000 charges), it can also run for 36 holes per charge.

Meanwhile, the 12V 24Ah SLA battery’s lifetime is only about 300 charges and usually runs for 27 holes.

This reduces the total weight by 75% and the size by about 50%. Finally, without the lead, the battery is now much more environmentally friendly. The small downside to the lithium battery is that it has a higher price, but it has a better performance and value.

Can I retread my current Sealed Lead Acid(SLA) battery trundler or upgrade from a SLA to a lithium later?

TopCaddy: There is no exact standard when you need to replace the battery, you can check the voltage and estimate capacity of how it performs in use. The new Lead Acid (SLA) batteries should range between 13.3V-13.6V. The Lithium batteries fully charged should range between 14.4V-14.6V.

When the battery is used or aged, this maximum voltage will decrease. Also. If your battery is becoming slow at the end of a round, or not making 18 holes, it’s time to get a new battery!

To check that, re-charge the battery, then measure the voltage. If it reads far below the good range; you will need a new battery.

The Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) BATTERY QUESTIONSHow to handle and maintain the Sealed Lead Acid(SLA) battery in order to get optimal performance and life time?

The battery only holds a charge for 3-4 hours and needs to be removed

Top Caddy: Before your first use, we strongly suggest you fully charge the battery, it might spend 6-8 hours to be full charged, and the indicator light will turn to be GREEN from RED, when charge is finished. Please move the battery off the charger if fully charged(the indicator light is green)

DO NOT stay the battery on the charger for long time when it is fully charged, it might damage the battery, and void the warranty.

DO NOT use up your battery, please charge after every 18 holes to make your battery to be designed life of the battery.

DO NOT store the battery in the cold environment, i.e. concrete or other cold surface.

NOTE: if you don’t use the battery for long time, it is recommended that the battery should be fully charged once every 6 weeks.

What should I do when I try to turn it on, but no power?

TopCaddy: Please check if all the parts connections are right and tight. Please ensure when you push the on/off button for 2-3 seconds to start the trundler.

I lost or replaced my remote control and just received a new replacement. How do I reprogram or resynchronize the new unit?

Check the new remote control, should be with a RED STOP button and an ON/OFF switch

Step #1 - Power your trundler off for at least five (5) seconds.
Step #2 - Hold down the stop button on the remote. Make sure the remote is powered on and the red light comes on.
Step #3 - Continue to hold down the stop button and power up trundler.
Step #4 - Continue to hold down the stop button until the LED light on the handle blinks.
Step #5 - Trundler is now in "sync".

Test each function to ensure all are functioning.
